Day 1: 2012 Pan-Americans – Canada Delivers a Strong Performance

As you may already know WCG Canada is taking part in 2012 Samsung WCG Pan-Americans taking place in Santiago, Chile. The cold weather seems to helped the team has they have been able to put up a good show. WCG Chile impressed the other countries with their amazing venue and outstanding Opening Ceremonies – a live orchestra played various video games theme songs accompanied by images of classic games bringing memories and tears to the eyes of the audience.


Canada’s Counter-Strike team delivered a strong performance today. The team won easily its first game against Ecuador, finishing with a score of 21-9 on de_dust2. The second match against Peru was a close one, Canada was able to take the first half on de_nuke but the opponent had a good T side and finally won 18-12.  The team came back strongly for its match against Chile (#1) where they won 16-9, securing their place amongst the top 4. Garett Bambrough played a magnificent first half, creating a momentum for the game and assuring a strong lead.

Tomorrow morning the team will be playing for the semi-finals against Brazil or USA. The winner of this best of 3 will go to the final, the loser will play for the bronze.

FIFA 2012

FIFA 12 was a tight competition. Arnaud “Arnaud” St-Jacques-Gagnon lost to his first opponent, the Venezuelan Robnel “d.D4rk1_ve” Lovera es el Elegido, with a score of 4-0 and 3-2 (best of 3). His second opponent was the Brazilian André “PlayArt.Buffo” Buffo, who is amongst the best in the world – final score 2-1 and 5-0 for him. Arnaud showed determination and stayed focus until the end, he offered a strong performance overall.

Good job Arnaud!
